Sinestro was Hal Jordan's mentor and once the greatest Green Lantern of all, until it came out that he was ruling his homeworld of Korugar through fear. The Guardians expelled him, and he became the Corps' greatest enemy.
Sinestro truly believes order is worth any price. He built the Sinestro Corps around the yellow light of fear, and his rivalry with Hal is the backbone of the modern Green Lantern saga.
