DC Comics has announced Green Lanterns: Bad Boys for Light, a new webcomic series starring Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The series launches in November under the DC GO! imprint, with art by Jo Mi-gyeong, who works under the name SteelScarlet.
The story follows Hal and John after a falling out with the Guardians. The two Lanterns strike out on their own to investigate a curious cold case, and DC teases that some of the coldest cases in the universe may be connected.
In an Instagram post announcing the series, the writer, Brandon T. Snider, described the setup this way: “SURPRISE! I’m writing your new favorite dynamic duo.” They also gave a quick read on the partnership: “John likes to run a tight ship. Hal likes to run his mouth. Chaos finds them whether they like it or not.”
DC GO! is a DC Comics imprint launched in 2024 that publishes webcomics exclusively on DC Universe Infinite. It carries both original material and reformatted existing comics, all in a scroll-through format similar to Webtoon.
The announcement lands while Hal and John are back in the spotlight with HBO’s Lanterns, and a buddy-cop take on the pair in comics form should find an audience. We’ll share more details, including the exact launch date, as DC reveals them.
