Mongul MDCCXCI is a ruthless Warzoon tyrant who inherited the throne of Warworld following his father’s death. A former member of the Sinestro Corps, Mongul eventually seized control of the organization and renamed it the Mongul Corps, sparking a bitter rivalry with Sinestro that led to his expulsion. Seeking to expand his power and satisfy his hatred of Superman, Mongul allied with the Cyborg Superman and devastated Coast City, killing thousands of its inhabitants. He was defeated by Hal Jordan, whose Green Lantern ring initially struggled against Mongul’s yellow skin, and later clashed with Kyle Rayner, who overcame the same weakness with his ring’s improved capabilities.
