Hector Hammond

Hector Hammond is a Green Lantern villain whose extraordinary intellect and psionic abilities come at the cost of his physical mobility. Originally a petty thief, Hammond discovered fragments of an extraterrestrial meteorite whose radiation was responsible for the hyper-evolution of Gorilla City and Gorilla Grodd. After kidnapping several scientists, he exposed himself and his captives to the radiation, accelerating his brain’s evolution and using his newfound intelligence to develop advanced black-market technology. However, his enhanced mind came at a terrible price: his body atrophied, leaving him unable to move.
